This set consists of 2 x A4 prints featuring Ruby the Red-tailed Black Cockatoo and feathers.

Background Story:

Ruby is a rescued female Red-tailed Black Cockatoo who had a fractured elbow joint.

It is believed she is an escaped pet, but to this day her owners have never been found.

Due to the position of the fracture in her wing, she is unable to fly. But has a loving foster home with the wildlife carer who nursed her back to health (she was also very skinny as was not able to fend for herself and find her own food in the wild)

Each feather has been individually photographed using a macro lens to pick up every single delicate detail. Angela then composited the 3 feathers together in an arrangement likened to if the feathers had naturally fallen.

This art piece was created especially for  "Parrots" exhibition, for BirdLife Australia Bird Week.
