This set consists of 2 x A4 prints featuring Sid front and back view.

This fledgling galah was rescued from a palm tree when it blew down in the wind.

Palm trees have become a popular alternative for nesting sites due to a lack of old trees with hollows. Unfortunately if too many hollows are excavated, the trunk becomes unstable.

Due to a fractured leg, Sid was not able to be reunited with its family, but his 2 other siblings were successfully relocated to a nest box in the tree next to the felled one.  They have since fledged.

Sid has now gone to a wildlife aviary to be with other fledgling orphaned Galahs.

The aim is to eventually release him back into the wild.

This image set was part of BirdLife Australia's Bird Week exhibition.
