This piece is part of a new series “Public Housing Plan for Birds” which explores birds in our urban areas.
The original concept is currently being displayed on the Newtown ArtSeat in Sydney, a permanent structure in Newtown Square that combines public seating, artwork display and lighting.
"These are the birds who live in the Inner-west.
When we cut down their trees and build on bushland, they are forced to move.
Imagine if we had a housing relocation initiative! Who would live where, who would like to be neighbours, who would be noisy?!Alternatively we could plant up our suburbs and think twice about removing trees un-necessarily. Our home is their home".
