Unique Workshops

Angela partners with Australian Wildlife Displays to create an animal portrait photography workshop like no other in Sydney.

These workshops bring you closer than ever to Australian native fauna. And you’ll learn more about the animals you are photographing.

Angela will teach you how to take stunning close-up wildlife portraits.

Your subjects will be a cockatoo, tawny frogmouth, lizards, snakes, crocodile, kookaburra, possum plus other surprise animal appearances!

Angela will also talk about her techniques in the field, discussing the importance of maintaining high ethical standards when you are working with wildlife.

And explain why she doesn't use flash on wildlife. As an alternative Angela will demonstrate her specially designed continuous lighting and daylight studio set-ups.

You are guaranteed to walk away with some stunning shots, a deeper understanding of Australian wildlife and some techniques you can use in the field.

The subjects in the class are Angela's pet parrots who love attention and Australian Wildlife Displays who are a fully licensed mobile zoo with animals, birds and reptiles which are used to people and being handled.

Classes are limited to 15 students. The cost is $290 per person.

Student, Senior and loyalty discounts available. Please get in contact to redeem.

Our next workshop is scheduled for Saturday 27th April, 10-4pm.  Bookings are now open!

Classes are now run annually.

What students have said:

"Just wanted to once again thank you for a brilliant day on Sunday! I really enjoyed it and in just 1 day, I feel so much more competent with the use of my camera and will be avoiding my ‘automatic' settings from now on with confidence! On top of that, I conquered a quite real fear of snakes that I have so it was an all round excellent day! I’ve got some great pictures coming along, I’ll pick my favourites and I’ll send through after the weekend if I ever get through them all :)

Many Thanks again, it was great to meet you"
Kind Regards

" I have been interested in photography for quite a number of years and have recently done a couple of jobs, i wanted to get more skills especially in wildlife because this is what i am most passionate about, i found Angela's course online and decided to give it a go as i had been following her work for quite awhile, i was not disappointed as it was a fantastic day getting to photograph many beautiful animals, i learnt so much in the day and where i can improve as a photographer, i feel more confident that i can produce an inspiring image, so thank you for a wonderful day :)"

Thank you

Teneale,

"I had the pleasure of meeting Angela Robertson-Buchanon on Sunday as a student in her Native Australian Wildlife Macro & Portrait Workshop.
Angela is a wonderful teacher with an incredible passion for animals and photography. The workshop was well organised and gave me the opportunity to photograph lots of Australian wildlife - up close and personal.
Thank you Angela for a fantastic day - I would recommend this workshop to anyone :) "

"I had a wonderful day at the class. I left feeling so inspired by your work and also the beautiful animals we got to photograph. I have done many workshops over the years and have never had such interesting subjects to photograph nor have I learnt as much as I did at your workshop. I look forward to using my macro lens more and really putting those skills to work.

Thanks again for a great day – I look forward to doing another workshop with you soon".

Kind regards
Louise

"I would just like to take this opportunity to thank you and your staff at Wildlife for the wonderful macro photography course I was fortunate to experience last week.

My nerves and any thought of intimidation quickly disappeared when Angela introduced herself. Angela's warm and friendly manner, made it a wonderful morning with her passion for photography very exciting! I wasn't sure on macro photography, however, having won an experience to develop any photography skills I jumped at the chance. Angela introduced me to a world of detail, colour and texture that can only be found through a macro lens.

I feel very fortunate and appreciative for the experience.

I would recommend this experience to anyone that is interested in photography, as the skills and tips can be applied to all subjects. However, to get up close and personal with wildlife is something one should encounter. I will definitely be giving my daughter the opportunity to learn some photography skills though Wildlife".

Thank you once again.
Domenique

Also thanks for letting me use your camera and sending the photos through so quickly".

Kind regards,

Angela was a wonderful teacher, she was attentive towards the whole class and made sure to dedicate time towards chatting with us individually. Her manner was approachable and affable and I had a fantastic time learning from her".
