This special 4 hour bird experience coincides with BirdLife Australia's National Bird Week.
 
We have teamed up with Sydney Bird Club to do a special bird walk prior to the class where we will do a bird count.
 
The grounds of the Hills Wildlife sanctuary are bursting with wild birds.  Frequently seen are Spotted pardelotes, Yellow & brown thornbills, Wattlebirds, Eastern spinebills, Red-browed finches and Varigated fairy wrens, plus more!  We may also see  yellow-tailed or glossy black-cockatoos who are know to make an appearance.
 
During this walk and count you will be guided by birding expert from Sydney bird club Stephanie Chambers and given wild bird photography tips by Angela.
 
Once we have finished the walk we will settle into our photography experience where you will get the opportunity to get up close and personal with a Red-tailed Black cockatoo, Kookaburras, Magpie, Bush-stone Curlew, Tawny Frogmouth, Emus. All in the name of supporting wildlife conservation.
 
You will be given exclusive behind the scenes access at the Hills Wildlife Sanctuary which is not open to the public, where you will see first-hand their dedication to wildlife conservation.
 
In natural outdoor settings, you will photograph the Sanctuary’s most endearing ambassadors like Madge the Magpie, Casper the leucistic Kookaburra & Marlin the Red-tailed Black cockatoo (plus more), whilst hearing about their unique background stories.
 
You will be guided on how to photograph moving subjects in changeable natural lighting conditions and learn how to make artistic depth of field & composition choices.
You will also have the opportunity to photograph wild birds within the grounds.

This exclusive experience & carefully planned experience is limited to 8 participants.
Class duration is 4 hours at the Sanctuary (9-1pm), which includes an additional post class image review & follow up workshop notes which summarise what was covered.

Sydney Bird Club was founded in 2016 by two artists who believe birding is for everyone, Sydney Bird Club has worked to break down barriers to birdwatching by guiding thousands of people on inclusive, accessible walks throughout Sydney. 
 
We will also be donating $10 from each person to BirdLife Australia.
