Kiwi is the most deliciously fruity smelling parrot Angela has ever encountered!

The eclectus parrot is native to the northeastern Australia  (as well as the Solomon Islands, Sumba, New Guinea and nearby islands and the Maluku Islands (Moluccas).

It's an unusual parrot due to its extreme sexual dimorphism colours.  The male is mostly green & the female mostly bright red.

When they were discovered by the first European ornithologists it was thought they were two different species.

In the wild, eclectus parrot's have the conservation status of "vulnerable".
