This wildlife image was taken in Sydney, New South Wales (East coast of Australia).  Features a Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo.

 

In the wild Yellow-tailed black cockatoos have a "vulnerable" conservation status in South Australia. 

Overall they have been in rapid decline because of native habitat clearance, with a loss of food supply and nest sites.

 

During Winter a large flock return to Sydney to feast on the exotic pine cones.

 

This image has been converted to black and white with the yellow feathers left in.

 

Is printed on metallic pearl photographic paper.
